More Than Tired...

It seems I underestimated the tired thing. It's more than tired, it's achy bones, joints that hurt when I move and a feeling like I want to curl in a ball and wake up better. It's sweating in the night to an extent never experienced before...heck I just thought it was the weather.
So to cut to the chase we've now worked out I have the virus too and so does DH. Thank you Mother. Ugh. Keeping it in the family sometimes sucks.

Judy,
Are you having any pain when you're nursing. What you're experiencing sounds an awful lot like mastitis, an infection in the milk ducts caused by a blockage. I had it once with my first nd 2x with my second (just lucky I guess). Some people are more prone to it than others. You can usually feel small lumps in your ducts and maybe even a red line on your breast from the infected area. If you do have it you can try feeding in different positions to draw on spots that don't normally get a much action. You may need antibiotics depending on how bad it is.

Let me know how it goes.

Marcy - thanks for that, I'll read up on it. I don't think I've been having pain but could be that I just haven't noticed! I've got my six week check up with doc next week so can get it checked out then. To be honest I think it could me mum's virus as she's got flu like pains too. But thanks for the tip off - would seem a likely cause. It's actually hurting my hands now (but then that could just be lifting a nearly 11lb baby all the time!!!!) jx

Just thought I'd tell you about it because if my sister (who also had mastitis) hadn't been around to tell me the signs, I never would have known what was wrong with me. But if your family has a virus, then you're probably bang on that you've got it too.

Take care of yourself,
Marcy

Oh Judy... ((HUGS)) Just the other day I was thinking how I would possibly manage caring for the baby if I got ill, so you have all my sympathy and more. Hope you get better REALLY soon.

- which you do - but not whenyou're sick on top of everything else. Hope you're getting better and squeezing in some 'care of you' time as well as the littlies...
